I liked the gimbal enough to order a second one and return the first, but the second one I just received, also won't lock. The arm slides up and down easily regardless of whether you have the lock nut firmly tightened or not. The gimbal arm does stay in place, as it clicks into place so I could use and test it out, but I don't feel comfortable using it without being able to lock the extendible arm in place, so, unfortunately, returning the second one rather than replacing.Even so, I'm trying the Smooth 5, because after testing with the Q3, I decided that a heavier duty gimbal was better for my needs as I intend to add some accessories to my phone. I was planning on sending the Q3 to my daughter for her use, but now it's just going to be returned. Must be a simple quality control problem with the current batch as I cannot find anyone else with this issue.I love it! Didn’t know what to expect. Reviews were good, and they’re not mistaken, at all! Works really great, filming with it is simple and very straightforward. Excellent results for a product in this price range.I was under the impression it came with a case as advertised and it did. not and I may return it as it was advertised showing it with a case for the price. I was disappointed about that other than that it is of good quality and I cannot wait to use it. The Smooth Q3 is one of my best. The gimble is so easy to use and compact. I love the built in light for recording at night.Like: easy to use, comes with a caseDislike: it is hard to understand the difference between modes and choose the right one. It takes a lot of practice to be very smooth. Also I could not figure out doing a tilt down from high above to a low angle and have the gimbal follow in a stable and level image.You must take your phone out of the case every time you want to use this thing which is annoying.Right out the box. Connected to Bluetooth once. During that time , firmware update needed. Nope it won't do that. Turned it off for a a hour. Now won't connect to Bluetooth after reinstall app. Resetting Bluetooth. I've had it 5hrs , so far nothing but trouble. please be aware that the firmware can only be updated via your pc.Edit. I purchased a second Smooth Q3 gimbal in hope the next one had no issues.Sadly not. I tried connecting to 3 different Samsung phones. S8, S10 plus S21 Plus. After many many attempts. Installing and reinstalling app software. Not one one would connect. Android App really needs to be on the same level as Apple. As the android app even misses some features that Apple has.Very poor gimbal and not what the reviews online show.I use a Samsung Galaxy S21 ultra in a slim case and it doesn't really fit. The phone catches on the gimbal arm and the clamp covers the on button.The gimbal cannot support the weight even though it should, it just switches off even though its balanced.The gimbal body is too small and no I don't own huge hands.The construction feels very cheap and flimsy.Ok it's a small gimbal and the app is ok but it's not a good gimbal. I paid the extra for what ended up a cheap case and the gimbal is help in with straps not a good cut out as you'd expect.Personally I'd say buy something else, im returning mine.A decent gimbal with many good features but not very good working with the native camera app on Huawei p30 pro. The Zy cami app is a bit glitchy, so at times (gestures feature doesn't work on my android device) and does not instantly connect with gimbal which means you have to keep the gimbal switched on throughout if you want to catch those shots. This means the battery is being drained even when you're not using the device. After all the hype and reviews on YouTube I have been left feeling underwhelmed.Ich bin schon lange Benutzer des ersten Smooth Q und warte seitdem auf einen würdigen Nachfolger. Voller Erwartung habe ich also jetzt das brandneue SmoothQ3 bekommen.Und wurde leider maßlos enttäuscht. :-(Aber der Reihe nach:- Das Tripod: Echt jetzt? Selbst ein günstiges China Tripod hier bei Amazon ist wertiger. Wert? Ich würde sagen: Straßenmarkt 3 Euro- Das Gimbal selbst: Leider ebenfalls billigstes Plastik. Der Griff selbst ist so kurz, dann gefühlt in einer Männerhand der kleine Finger ins Leere greift. Kein Grip o.ä. ist verfügbar.Weiter Kritikpunkte:- Neues Gimbal ok, aber dass ich erst ein Firmware-Update via USB Kabel und serial USB Port 3 machen muss.... Ich gehe davon aus, dass viele bereits hier scheitern würden...Update via Bluetooth geht leider (noch) nicht.- Verbindungsabbrüche: Trotz 100% Akku verliert das Gimbal die Verbindung (Huawei P30Pro) bzw. geht unvorbereitet in den "Standby-Modus" (Leds wummern). und das gefühlt alle 2 Minuten...- App: Erst muss ich mich registrieren, damit sie überhaupt läuft. Dann muss ich in der App erst sagen, dass ich Fotos/Video machen will...- Gimbal Achsen: Leider sind die "neuen" Gimbal anscheinend alle als Spielzeuge konzipiert. Der "Fake-Drone" shot ist damit leider nicht mehr möglich. Oder anders: Eine Drohne fliegt gerade von unten nach oben. Mit den neuen gewinkelten Gimbals ist das nur noch 90° gedreht möglich. So fliegt keine Drohne (Nicht mal eine gefakte) Ferner kann das Gimbal, wenn die Hand gerade nach unten gestreckt ist, NICHT nach vorne Filme. Sprich: Auch hier muss man die Hand um 90° drehen...Kurzum: Ich bleib weiter bei meinem Smooth Q der ersten Generation und hoffe auf 2022
